Day 1


1In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. 2While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." 3So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
Acts 13:1-3


God speaks to His church as they meet to pray and fast. We will hear His voice through the scriptures we read, the inner voice of the Holy Spirit, the circumstances around us, and through the prayers and testimonies of other people. Be attentive to God during this time of prayer and consider what He may be saying to us and write down any impressions you may have in the comments section.

Missions and the Persecuted Church:
Pakistan:Christians in the village of Bahmaniwala in Punjab province, Pakistan, were attacked by Muslims on June 30 after a believer allegedly committed blasphemy against Islam. (www.persecution.net)

Unreached People Group: the Bambara of Malawi. They are 3.6 million people with less than 1.2 % Christian (Moslem nation).

Canada: Prime Minister Stephen Harper

Denominational Leadership: Hamish and Cindy Buntain. Hamish the Leadership Consultant of our WestCoast Association. He coaches pastors and gets called on in times of church conflict.

Our City: Pray for the public schools to be good stewards of the children and not to become home to special interest groups and political and moral agendas that are opposed to scripture.

Our Church: Prayer for the Spanish, Myanmar, Korean, Philippine and Sudanese brothers and sister who meet here.
